Sony is spotlighting its first digital still camera to feature sweep panorama technology here at the Photo Marketing Association confab. The new HX1 Cyber-shot model can take 224-degree panorama shots in one easy press-and-sweep motion.

It is also the company’s first Cyber-shot camera to use the exclusive 1/2.4-inch Exmor™ CMOS sensor technology. This technology allows it to achieve burst speeds of 10 frames per second at full 9.1 megapixel resolution in continuous burst mode…

Sony Adds Smart Auto Technology To Cyber-Shot Cameras For Picture-Excellent Shots

Sony today announced five new Cyber-shot® cameras (models DSC-T900, DSC-T90, DSC-W290, DSC-W230 and DSC-H20) that make it easier to take the best pictures without changing settings.

The intelligent auto mode, available on the T900, T90, W290 and H20 models helps “think” for you and detect scene conditions then adjust settings, especially in difficult lighting scenarios.

New Sony Cyber-shot Camera Gets Even More Intelligent Yet Still Very Practical

Sony today announced a new 12-megapixel Cyber-shot® camera (model DSC-W220) that combines powerful imaging features with intelligence to make taking great pictures easy.

The entry-level W model has features that until now were only found in high-end models (DSC-W150 and DSC-W170), including Intelligent Scene Recognition and Dynamic Range Optimizer.

Sony is adding high-definition movie recording to its digital camera line with the introduction of the Cyber-shot® DSC-T500 model.

This 10-megapixel camera features wide and full-screen 720p movie recording at 30 frames per second in fine, standard and VGA recording modes. This resolution is three times higher than standard-definition movies.

Sony Electronics is helping more children smile through its support of the worldwide children’s medical charity Operation Smile.

Sony is commencing a retail promotion for Sony Cyber-shot® cameras featuring Smile ShutterTM technology at Sony Style® Stores, Sonystyle.com, and other participating retailers for the month of August.

Through this effort, the company will make a $100,000 donation to the organization. The funds will be used to provide free physical examinations and reconstructive surgeries for children suffering from cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities…
